Get involved

Volunteering at St Peter’s

  • Opportunities to join in, have fun, grow faith, and meet new people!

  • What is God calling you to do?

Our life together as a church family relies on us all sharing our time and talent to support and serve our whole community. Offering what we can helps us as we worship, nurture, and take action together. On this page you’ll find ways you might like to get involved in our life together at St Peter’s.

Want to help St Peter’s continue to grow in faith and number? Join our PCC! When? 4 evening meetings a year. Who? Anyone can be co-opted, but membership requires membership of our church roll. How? Applications for co-option can come to the PCC at any time. PCC membership via election is each year at our May AGM.

  • Healing & Prayer Ministry

We begin and end most weekdays with Morning & Evening Prayer at 08.30 and 5.30 for 20 minutes. We offer a monthly healing service and other opportunities to meet together for prayer on Saturdays at 10.00. Volunteers can lead or help guide others in prayer with a small amount of training. When? During scheduled  services Who? Anyone!

Safeguarding

We work hard to ensure St Peter’s is a safe place for everyone. When you volunteer, we make sure you have a clear role description and ask for a short character reference from someone who knows you well.  For some roles, where you may be alone with children or vulnerable adults, we require a DBS check, and we’ll help to get that in place. We encourage and offer access to training for these roles. Contact us to find out more.

Get involved, be in touch!

If you’d like to get involved with one of these activities or teams (or just say hello or meet for a coffee to find out more about what’s involved) get in touch!
