Intercessions

Intercessions

From Margaret Glover

Lord, we come to you as humble servants trusting that you will hear us if we ask in your Son’s name with true hearts inspired by your Holy Spirit.

We offer you our wonder for the beauty and abundance of your creation, help us to live and work as steadfast stewards of your many and diverse gifts.

Lord in the silence

Hear our prayer

We bring before you the Anglican communion and beseech you to grant us all the wisdom to speak your truth, the courage to oppose injustice and prejudice, the humility to walk as listening companions to the neglected and abused, and the grace to minister to all in need of your mercy and love.

Lord in the silence

Hear our prayer

We offer our prayers for those seeking to lead London and its boroughs. Help us, Lord, to discern between easy solutions and lasting communal resolutions, between false promises and shared leadership towards communal action in hope.

Lord in the silence

Hear our prayer

As we welcome the easing of restrictions, help us, Lord, to remember that there is no real freedom without loving our neighbours as ourselves.

Lord in the silence

Hear our prayer

We bring before you, Lord, this congregation and community. We give you thanks for our lay ministers and the ordained priests mentoring us through the interregnum. May your Holy Spirit be with us as we seek a new vicar.

Lord in the silence

Hear our prayer

We offer you our prayers, O Lord, for those who suffer in body, mind or soul. Help us to meet those in need where they are.

Lord in the silence

Hear our prayer

We bring before you those who mourn, may they know your undying comfort. We  remember those whose years’ minds come at this time – Adelaide England, Philip Edwards, Roland Hinds, Owen Humphries, Sister Monica Popper, Albert Pritchard

Rest eternal grant unto them, O Lord

And may light perpetual shine upon them

Gathering our prayers together with Mary, the mother of our Lord, and Peter, our patron, we ask you, Merciful Father to accept these prayers for the sake of your son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
