Intercessions

Dear Father,

We pray for each fellow member of our own church family at St Peters both in church and away , that each of us may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in our inner being.

We give thanks for the good things in our church life together, where we have felt uplifted and carried by God.

We are reminded in the challenges of this year that Jesus says “Do not be afraid”. St Paul says: “Be filled to the measure of all the fullnesss of God.” Enable this O Lord.

Lord in the silence hear our prayer.

We pray for the clergy in our Diocese who seek to address issues to make the church more responsive to people of all race.

Lord, make us aware of where we have failed to change and have not acted to incorporate the needs of all. In this difficult time help us here in St Peters to make decisions that do include all, build up our joint life and glorify Jesus.

We pray particularly this week for our pastoral team; Vivette, Amanda and Boachie who was commissioned as pastoral assistant last Sunday.

May God bless them in their work with baptism families, make them a strong united voice in our leadership team, a healing presence in our midst and bless them in their own families.

Lord in the silence hear our prayer.

We pray for our Government and ask for wise decisions which are taken over these weeks. We thank God that we have seen that the vaccination against Covid has helped us to respond and learn to live with this virus. Teach us to remain in unity together, to build love across divisions and to respond with patience as a country and a community.

Lord in the silence hear our prayer.

We pray for any who are sick and anxious at this time. We pray that they may find daily strength, hope and peace.

Lord give the health workers strength in this further wave of pressure on services.

Lord in the silence hear our prayer.

We pray for anyone known to us who has died recently.

At this time we remember the anniversary of Jesse Moses.

May they rest in peace.

Lord in the silence hear our prayer.
