Let us pray

On this day of Palm Sunday as Christ enters Jerusalem for the beginning of Holy Week, let us pray with joy and welcome him into our lives.

Lord Jesus who conquered death because you were sinless, make us conquerors of all challenges confronting us.

 

Lord, meet us in the silence and hear our prayer

 

Thank you, Lord, for the gift of this church and your servants who have gathered here to worship, serve and pray.  Give us strength to live as ambassadors for you in the world.  Lord, bless this church, keep us pure and make your face shine upon us.  We thank all our volunteers who give their time and talent in various ways for the health of this church.

 

Lord, meet us in the silence and hear our prayer

 

Creator of the universe, we pray in gratitude and praise.  You were there at the beginning of all things.  You have provided the mountains and the trees, the waters and the earth.  Help us to preserve your gifts by protecting them all.

 

Lord, meet us in the silence and hear our prayer

 

Our thoughts and prayers are with those whose lives have been impacted by Covid-19
We remember those who have recently died and those whose anniversaries of their death fall at this time.

 

Rest eternal grant unto them, O Lord and may light perpetual shine upon them

 

The spirit of the Lord lives in us all, so let us all go from here and walk in the light of the Lord.

 

Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your son, our saviour Jesus Christ.  Amen.
