Mthr Christina (Tina) Beardsley SMMS, a Church of England priest, is a member of the dispersed Anglican community, The Sodality of Mary, Mother of Priests. Born in West Yorkshire, Tina moved first to Brighton – where she met her husband, Rob – to read Religious Studies at Sussex University, and then to St John’s College, Cambridge, where her doctoral studies were on the Victorian Romantic preacher, ‘Robertson of Brighton’. Her focus was Robertson’s theology and she’s subsequently written a biography, Unutterable Love: The passionate Life & Preaching of FW Robertson (Lutterworth, 2009). Tina was a healthcare chaplain for fifteen years, mostly at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, where she was Head of Multi-faith Chaplaincy from 2008-2016. Now retired and helping in London churches, north and south of the Thames, Tina is a Visiting Scholar at Sarum College, and co-author of a trilogy of books about the spiritual care of trans people.
