For peace in the Church and peace among all people, let us pray to our Almighty God.

Loving God we thank You for your invitation to gather here as we seek a true relationship with you. We bow before you now in humility and with faith, voicing our petitions. Holy God your servant Paul teaches us that your word is living and active and so we pray that our Church life at St Peters will also be full of life and activity and that day by day we will grow to know you more clearly and love you more dearly.

Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer

Mighty God, so often the lack of justice throughout the world makes us angry and bitter.  Like your prophet Amos we see the poor being trampled and denied the basic freedoms that we so often take for granted.  We pray for all those who are being driven from their homes in places of conflict and forced to seek refuge elsewhere.  We pray that wherever they land, the people and their government will do their best to offer them a safe refuge.

Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer

Father God in our journey with you through our lives we find that we have often left friends and family behind for the sake of your son Jesus Christ.  Help us to show them through the way that we live our lives that they too can be a part of that journey and that the rewards you promise are a present reality.

Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer

O Lord our God, we pray for ourselves, we entrust all our loved ones in your care, and we pray You protect and guide the Snow, Sutherland, Teka, Thornber-Mann and Trought families. Be their keeper and bless them with all the good gifts of life.

Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer

Merciful God we remember this morning those who are sad, or lonely, and those who are brave and patient when things are going wrong. We pray You submit your healing powers over those who are sick and in hospital or at home, especially Clarence Skeete and those personally known to us. We pray that they may be aware of your comforting presence and know that in your hands they are safe and loved.

Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer

King of glory, we thank for the community we live in. We thank You for teaching us to love others regardless of racial differences, economic differences, or any other differences. May our community and city be known for love and fairness and not discrimination. We pray You eradicate prejudice from our hearts, our words, and our actions. Help us love as Youlove.

Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer

Heavenly Father, we pray for those whose hearts have been saddened by the death of someone close and dear to them. We pray for those who have departed this life and ask You, through your loving kindness, to have mercy on their souls, and we remember those whose anniversary fall at this time, namely, James Mansell, Mary Clark, and Steadman Isaac.

Rest eternal grant unto them oh lord.

Creator God, we thank you for this time together in prayer and as we look forward to the week to come, we pray for an awareness of your love and support in all we do.

Merciful Father: accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Amen.
